Losing weight with feelings of happiness - that promises the Low-glycemic diet, This abbreviation stands for the glycemic index (GLYX). This indicates the influence of a food on the blood sugar level. Foods with favorable influence as well as a movement program form the basis of the Glyx diet. Whether you take it off healthily and effectively, read here.

What is the Glyx diet?

The Glyx diet is a reduction diet that divides food according to its effect on the insulin secretion and comes from the graduate ecotrophologist Marion Grillparzer. Foods that produce a moderate insulin response preferably end up on the plate. This should prevent food cravings and favor fat loss. Breaks between meals should enable fat loss during the day.

The program is supplemented by "slimming products" - foods that help you lose weight. These include olive oil, fish, nuts and seeds, as well as cottage cheese. Other products such as radishes, cabbage, asparagus and strawberries should even have low calories, according to Grillparzer, and make them lean during the meal.

An integral part of the Glyx diet is in addition to the above dietary rules also 20 to 30 minutes of exercise a day.

This is how the Glyx diet works

The glycemic index indicates how strongly a particular food causes the pancreas to release the hypoglycemic hormone insulin. Depending on the content of sugars, fibers and fats, foods trigger a different reaction.

The glycemic index is a number between 1 and 110. Foods that induce a rapid and high blood sugar increase have a high glycemic index, a high number. Anyone who eats such foods quickly becomes hungry again. Low glycemic index foods, on the other hand, increase blood sugar levels only slightly and slowly, leaving you feeling less hungry for longer. Therefore, these foods should be preferred in the Glyx diet on the menu.

Glyx traffic light for food

The Glyx diet divides foods according to their effect on insulin levels and marks them in color in the traffic light system. Red means that the food causes a rapid rise in blood sugar and a high insulin secretion, thus blocking the fat loss. This is especially the case with starchy and sugar-rich foods such as pumpkin, toast and watermelon. Losing weight is made more difficult. Therefore, these foods are greatly reduced in the context of the Glyx diet.

Green foods, on the other hand, have a low glycemic index. They therefore keep slim and are preferred in the Glyx diet.

By the way: finished products are completely forbidden with this diet form.
